Origen Divergente is a Colombian documentary series that follows the lives of five young Indigenous people from different native communities across the country. Through fashion, art, sport, the spoken word and digital tools, these protagonists choose to break with the stereotypes that have historically defined what it means to be “indigenous” and propose new ways of inhabiting both their territories and public space.
Through their bodies, their work and their languages, each of them reshapes the collective imagination of what it means to be Indigenous in Colombia today, combining the memory of their communities with contemporary practices that engage with urban art, social media and the struggle for cultural recognition.
